Grow your own Resurrection Garden this Easter

I have seen the “resurrection garden” Easter activity several times now and I thought it was about time I investigated how to make one.

I have four boys and this is just the sort of activity they would enjoy. They love to get dirty and do things with their hands. They also love to build things (out of everything and anything!) and the fact you get to watch this mini garden change and grow would definitely capture their interest.

I also find object lessons are great for teaching children as they tend to remember what you are teaching them through association.

I found this great tutorial from wearethatfamily.com which gives step by step instructions on how to make the Easter Resurrection Garden.

The tutorial can be found here.

If you follow this tutorial you will need these supplies:

  • Terra cotta mini pot for the tomb
  • Terra cotta small tray
  • Small pebbles
  • Grass seed
  • One small bag of potting soil
  • Small twigs and a rock to cover the tomb entrance
  • Glue gun
  • Spray water bottle (for watering)
